Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Highways Agent to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Norfolk.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key work packages on a high-profile scheme, working within a collaborative and fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day delivery of highways works on site

Manage subcontractors and ensure effective subcontract management across all packages

Lead site teams including engineers and supervisors

Develop, update, and drive the programme, ensuring works are delivered to schedule

Monitor progress and performance against key milestones

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Liaise with the client, stakeholders, and internal delivery teams

Maintain accurate reporting, records, and documentation

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Agent or Sub Agent on highways projects

Strong background working with Tier 1 or principal contractors

Demonstrable experience in subcontract management

Solid programming experience (e.g. short-term planning, lookaheads, programme updates)

Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and commercial processes

Strong understanding of highways construction

SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)

Excellent leadership and communication skills
