This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Applications Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer or Development Engineer who has strong commercial sales and customer liaison skills to be the voice of the customer and liaise with internal design, sales and marketing teams and influence the design of new, off-highway construction machine attachment products.

A global player in the design, development and manufacture of off-highway construction machines and heavy vehicle systems supplied to clients all over the world.
Your Role: Applications Engineer
Review new machine attachment enquiries and opportunities from new and existing clients; recognise and identify key technical criteria and develop the best options for a proposal
Work with clients and global engineering teams to develop solutions for both new applications and product modifications - hydraulic interfaces, mounting brackets, controls, installation guides etc.
Be the "voice of the European customer", research market trends, competitors and emerging attachment technologies
Visit customers to survey application performance, up sell company attachment products and integration requirements- 50%. Site visits to company HQ for training and liaison with engineering teams - 3/4 times a year
Work closely with sales & marketing teams offering technical support with bids, create content for marketing and represent company at international trade shows
Your background: Applications Engineer
You must have a strong technical understanding of hydraulic attachments, machinery, hydraulic design & development, heavy machines for construction/off-highway, agricultural or heavy equipment etc
Degree in mechanical, automotive or mechatronics engineering
High level understanding of hydraulic systems and control for excavators, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders or similar
You must be able to demonstrate proven experience in understanding and fulfilling customer needs, developing pragmatic and commercially viable solutions and excellent project management skills
Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English and one other European language - German, Italian, French, Spanish, Polish etc
Candidates must have the right to work in the EU without visa sponsorship
This role is based out of the new engineering facility located to the East of Bologna, Italy. It is commutable from Imola, Faenza, Ravenna, Forli, Cesena etc but the company welcomes applications from within the EU
