The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Associate Civil Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking engineering consultancy based in central London. Working on a wide range of high-profile projects across the commercial, infrastructure, and urban development sectors, this role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping the built environment at both a technical and strategic level.

The Role

As an Associate within the Civils team, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of civil engineering packages, managing multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors. You will contribute to the practice’s growth by overseeing technical excellence, nurturing talent, and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the civil engineering aspects of major developments, including drainage, highways, utilities, and earthworks

Oversee design quality, compliance, and delivery from concept to construction

Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and technicians

Act as the primary client interface for key civil engineering projects

Manage project resources, budgets, and commercial performance

Contribute to business development and strategic planning within the civils team

About You

Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent)

Minimum of 8 years’ UK consultancy experience in civil/infrastructure design

Strong technical understanding of UK design standards and approval processes

Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills

Proven experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments

A passion for sustainable design and innovative engineering
