About the Role
A long‑established engineering company in Chesterfield is expanding and looking for an experienced Business Development Manager. This role suits someone who enjoys relationship‑building, teamwork, and managing both warm inbound enquiries and new business opportunities.
You’ll work closely with supportive technical and project teams to create tailored proposals. The role is fully office‑based due to the collaborative nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities

Managing inbound enquiries and converting leads

Developing new business across the UK

Owning the full sales cycle

Preparing proposals and quotations with internal support

Building strong customer relationships

Managing CRM and pipeline

Working on projects from £30k to £250k

Achieving revenue and margin targets
Skills and Experience

Business development or technical/solution‑based sales experience
*
Proven success in winning new business
*
Comfortable with longer, consultative sales cycles
*
Strong communication and negotiation skills
*
Organised, motivated, and target‑driven
