Cable Design Engineer

A new opportunity is available with our client, who are a leading consultancy in the energy sector, is currently seeking a Cable Design Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent role where you will play a pivotal role in delivering HV/EHV projects for overhead lines and underground cable circuits. Their ideal candidates will have proven cable design experience using Cymcap or Cableiser or similar software packages.

Cable Design Engineer role:
The successful Cable Design Engineer will be responsible for:
Designing and developing cable systems for power distribution and transmission, including the selection of cables, connectors, and installation methods.
Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation using AutoCAD and other relevant software tools.
Site surveys and assessments to gather data for cable system design.
Technical calculations and analysis to ensure the electrical and mechanical performance of cable systems.
Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in cable technology and design practices

Cable Design Engineer requirements:
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Electrical or Power Engineering
Experience in the Cable Design process
Proficiency in Cymcap or Cableiser or similar software.
Proven understanding of power transmission and cable systems engineering principles
Experience in the design, manufacture, and testing of HV cables

Cable Design Engineer package:
Salary £60k – £80k DOE
23 days holiday + bank hols
