Cnc Service Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Provide worldwide service support for a portfolio of cutting-edge machines
* Travel approximately 3–4 months per year, with trips ranging from a few days to 2–3 weeks
* When not traveling, work at the company’s UK headquarters, assisting in machine assembly and developing customer service practices
* Service tasks include: machine installation, preventative maintenance, breakdown response, calibration, and customer training
* Respond to machine breakdowns, often with short-notice travel
Key Skills & Experience:
* Experience with building or servicing CNC machines (3/5 axis) in areas such as lathe, milling, grinding, laser, diamond turning, EDM, ECM
* Knowledge of precision equipment (bearings, motors, linear scales/rails, linear motors)
* Understanding of machine geometry: alignment, straightness, and calibration
* Strong IT and reporting skills for service documentation, timesheets, and expense management
* Confidence in working directly with customers, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
* Experience with Renishaw equipment (XM-60, XL80, Ballbar) is advantageous but training is provided
* Ability to manage travel and schedules independently
