Contract Civil Engineer (Drainage Design) - Outside IR35

Rate: £35-£45 per hour
Contract Length: Minimum 6 months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established, design-led civil and structural engineering consultancy known for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors.
Due to increased workload, they are looking for an experienced Contract Civil Engineer with a strong focus on drainage design to support project delivery over an initial 6-month period.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of surface water and foul drainage systems
Prepare detailed drainage strategies, calculations, and reports
Design SuDS solutions in line with current UK standards and best practice
Liaise with local authorities, water companies, and external stakeholders (e.g. Section 104/106 agreements)
Support projects from concept through to detailed design and construction

Requirements

Proven experience in drainage design within a consultancy environment
Strong working knowledge of Causeway Flow or InfoDrainage
Experience delivering SuDS and drainage strategies
Familiarity with Civil 3D or Site 3D (desirable)
Ability to work autonomously in a contract role and manage deadlines effectively
