Location: Motherwell / Lanarkshire (ML1)

Salary: £45,000 + Benefits

Type: Full-Time | Permanent

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a hands-on EC&I role on a live energy plant — not a desk-based position.

If you’re an engineer who enjoys fault finding, improving plant performance and working on real industrial systems, this is where you want to be.

We’re recruiting for an EC&I Engineer to join a modern Energy from Waste facility, playing a key role in keeping the plant running safely, efficiently and compliantly.

You’ll be working at the heart of operations — supporting fault finding, improving plant performance and driving engineering standards across electrical, control and instrumentation systems.

THE ROLE

- Support plant performance through fault finding and root cause analysis

- Work across electrical, control and instrumentation systems

- Collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams

- Improve plant reliability and asset performance

- Work with PLC / SCADA, instrumentation, VSDs, electrical distribution and CEMS

- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards

- Support management of change and continuous improvement

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential:

- Experience in Energy from Waste, power generation or heavy industrial environments

- Strong knowledge of electrical, control and instrumentation systems

- Proven fault finding capability

- Understanding of permit-to-work systems

- Engineering qualification (HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Desirable:

- CEMS experience

- Knowledge of drives, UPS and distribution systems

- IOSH or similar H&S qualification

- CMMS experience (Maximo or similar)

WHY THIS ROLE

- Modern energy facility

- Hands-on engineering role

- Strong long-term sector

- Opportunity to impact plant performance

Join a growing, forward-thinking energy business where you’ll have real influence on plant performance, not just maintain it. Our client offers a hands-on environment, strong leadership and the opportunity to be part of a company genuinely investing in its people and long-term future.
