Job Title: Electrical Estimator

Department: Pre-Construction / Commercial

Reports To: Estimating Manager / Commercial Manager

Location: Crawley

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical installations across commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects. The successful candidate will analyse drawings and specifications, liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, and support the tendering process to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates and take-offs

Analyse labour, materials, and equipment requirements

Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations

Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving options

Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation

Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits as required

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams

Maintain estimating databases and cost benchmarks

Support handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams

Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or similar role

Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation methods

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Knowledge of current electrical regulations and standards

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel essential)

Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and negotiation skills

Desirable

Experience in commercial / industrial electrical projects

Knowledge of value engineering techniques

Experience using estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Amtech, or similar)

Relevant electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND)

Full UK driving licence
