Job Description: Electrical Inspector

Role Overview

The Electrical Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and verifying electrical installations on Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards and manufacturer requirements. The role includes close liaison with the electrical installation contractor and the production of inspection records and punch lists.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out electrical inspections of electrical installations on WTGs, including Siemens switchgear.

2. Complete electrical installation checklists to verify that electrical equipment, containment systems and cabling are installed in accordance with design specifications and standards.

3. Produce detailed electrical punch lists for each WTG, clearly identifying non-conformances and required remedial actions.

4. Review, assess and validate electrical installation contractor documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with project requirements and offshore standards.

Essential Requirements

1. Member of the NICEIC Competent Person Scheme.

2. Electrical Apprenticeship, including Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (City & Guilds 2357) or equivalent.

Desirable Requirements

1. 18th Edition Wiring Regs BS 7671 (City & Guilds 2382-22).

2. Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391-52).

3. Previous experience carrying out electrical inspections on WTGs
