Estimating Engineer
Key responsibilities
Estimate manufacturing and selling costs for CNC 3/4/5-axis milling and turning work packages
Estimate manufacturing and selling costs for formed and sheet metal parts, including minor assembly where required
Obtain material, bought-out items and treatment prices and lead times (working with suppliers and procurement)
Select the best machine tools for parts and check capacity and routings
Produce accurate costings aligned to customer requirements, quality expectations and delivery timescales
Support the Bid/No Bid process and prioritise workload effectively
Confidently read and assess engineering drawings; interpret 3D models using relevant viewers
Prepare and submit quotes/tenders, ensuring bids are fully compliant with RFP requirements
Update and maintain the bid register, using data to improve win rate and process performance
Remain compliant with company processes and procedures; support continuous improvement
Essential skills & experience
Proven experience in estimating/costing (essential)
Background in aerospace or precision engineering (essential)
Strong estimating knowledge across CNC milling/turning and sheet metal
Experience working with Titanium, Aluminium and Steel
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and CATIA
