Job Title: Exams & Assessment Manager

Location: Gloucester

Contract Type: Temporary

Contract Length: 4 to 6 months

Start Date: As soon as possible - 37 hours per week

Rate: £19 to £23 per hour, depending on experience

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Exams & Assessment Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality examinations and assessment services across our multi-campus provision.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and regulatory compliance of all examinations activity. You will ensure that services are delivered efficiently, securely, and in line with JCQ, Ofqual, and awarding body requirements.

Working closely with senior leaders, curriculum teams, and support services, you will act as the College’s subject matter expert on all examinations matters while leading and developing a dedicated Exams team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and manage all examinations and assessments across the College

Ensure full compliance with JCQ, Ofqual, and awarding body regulations

Plan and oversee exam delivery, including timetables, logistics, and results

Manage and develop the Exams team and invigilators

Oversee accurate exams data, reporting, and results processing

Support students with access arrangements and ensure clear communication

We’re looking for someone who:

Has strong experience in examinations management within an educational setting

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of JCQ and awarding body regulations

Is an effective leader and team manager

Has excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

Can manage complex processes with accuracy and attention to detail

Communicates confidently with a wide range of stakeholders

Essential

Experience of line managing a team and co-ordinating roles and responsibilities.

Experience of managing high-volume, deadline-driven processes with a high level of accuracy.

A sound background knowledge of administrative systems and an ability to create systematic procedure that support delivery

Educated to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience that demonstrates a high order of literacy, numeracy and analytical skills

Desirable

Extensive experience of working within an FE Examinations function

Proven experience of managing examinations in compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.

Experience of digital or on-screen assessment systems.

A relevant administrative qualification or evidence of formal training
