Extrusion Machine Setter / Operator
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Extrusion Machine Setter / Operator to join a manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves setting, operating and maintaining uPVC extrusion machinery to produce high-quality products safely and efficiently. You'll take ownership of machine performance, product quality and production output while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, operate and optimise uPVC extrusion machinery to achieve production and quality targets.
* Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as required and minimise downtime and waste.
* Carry out in-process quality inspections and maintain accurate production and quality records.
* Diagnose machine and process faults, complete basic maintenance and support engineering teams when required.
* Assist with training colleagues, promoting safe working practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures while maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Previous experience as a Machine Setter/Operator within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of machine setting, tooling and extrusion processes.
* Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
* Good communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach.
* Basic IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable
* Experience within uPVC extrusion manufacturing.
* Forklift Truck Licence.
* Manufacturing or engineering qualification
