Finance Manager

Shirley, Solihull (Office Based)
£45,000 per annum
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Shirley, Solihull. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a qualified finance professional who enjoys managing a busy finance function while developing and supporting a small office-based team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department.

* Process and reconcile daily bank transactions, including maintaining invoice discounting schedules.

* Produce weekly and monthly sales invoices using Sage 50 and a workforce management system.

* Manage the purchase ledger and ensure accurate daily processing.

* Oversee credit control activities to support healthy cash flow.

* Complete monthly payroll reconciliations.

* Lead, mentor and develop junior members of the finance team.

* Build and maintain effective working relationships across the business.

* Prepare and coordinate financial information for external auditors.

* Monitor and improve cash flow management.

* Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.

* Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

You will be a proactive and commercially minded finance professional with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and enjoy driving continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent).

* Previous experience with invoice discounting is essential.

* Strong working knowledge of Sage 50.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

* Experience working within a busy, growing organisation.

* Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining effective financial controls.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

* A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
