This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a growing international business, acting as the Finance Director's right-hand person and taking ownership of technical accounting, group reporting, forecasting and financial controls. You'll play a key role in improving processes, supporting a developing finance team and providing commercial insight to help drive business performance.

Description

As Financial Accountant, you'll work closely with senior finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting across the business whilst supporting the development of the wider finance team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
Supporting quarter-end reporting to the German parent company
Intercompany accounting and subsidiary balance confirmations
VAT reporting and compliance
Producing monthly forecasts and supporting budgeting activities
Analysing gross profit margins and identifying opportunities for improvement
Providing technical accounting support across the finance team
Reviewing processes and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Acting as a key point of contact between the Finance Director and the wider finance team

Profile

We're looking for a technically strong accountant who enjoys getting into the detail whilst also bringing fresh ideas and commercial insight.

You'll ideally have:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
Strong financial reporting and month-end experience
Knowledge of group reporting within an international business
Experience of intercompany accounting and subsidiary reporting
Good VAT knowledge
Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
A proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes
Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge where appropriate
A hands-on approach and willingness to support and develop junior team members

Job Offer

Permanent role with a salary ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 dependent on the level of experience.
Opportunities to contribute to a key function within the recycling industry.
Based in Cannock onsite 5 days per week, with the chance to work in a supportive finance team.
Monday - Thursday: 8.00am - 4.00pm
