Food Safety Officer
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out programmed and reactive food hygiene inspections across a range of food premises in line with the Food Law Code of Practice.
* Undertake investigations into food complaints, food poisoning, and infectious disease notifications as required.
* Provide advice and guidance to food business operators to support compliance with food safety legislation.
* Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports, correspondence, and legal documentation where necessary.
* Take proportionate enforcement action, including informal action and formal notices, in accordance with council procedures.
* Maintain accurate records and update the relevant food safety database and documentation systems
