A welcoming secondary special school in Hackney is seeking a Food Technology Technician, and are happy to consider a Teaching Assistant who is strong in supporting teaching and learning, and particularly someone who has an interest in food technology.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) while contributing to practical food technology lessons in a supportive school environment.
🌟 The Role
✔ Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for lessons
✔ Supporting teaching and learning during practical sessions
✔ Helping students access food technology activities safely
✔ Maintaining high standards of hygiene and health & safety
✔ Assisting with organisation of the food technology area
✔ Working closely with teaching staff to support student progress
✨ About You
✔ Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar is desirable
✔ A positive, patient and nurturing approach to working with young people
✔ Interest in food technology and food preparation - and super organised with it
✔ Strong teamwork and communication skills
✔ Ability to support students with additional learning needs
Food hygiene knowledge is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
