Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in Bristol who are looking for an experienced Gear Cutter to their growing manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering business in Bristol. The successful candidate will have experience setting and operating gear cutting machinery and be capable of producing precision components to tight tolerances.
The Role
* Setting and operating gear cutting machines
* Manufacturing gears and precision-engineered components to specification
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment
* Performing tool changes and basic machine maintenance
* Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards and production schedules
* Working closely with the production and quality teams
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Gear Cutter, Gear Machinist, or similar role
* Experience with hobbing, shaping, or gear cutting machinery
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Knowledge of precision engineering practices and tolerances
* Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Apprenticeship or engineering qualifications advantageous but not essential
