Ground Workers – Cabling / Ducting Project

Rotation: 17 days on / 5 days off - 12 hour shifts.
Location: Shetland Islands (carriageway ducting & cabling project)
Positions: Multiple vacancies
Contract - 3 months
Accommodation & Travel: Fully provided and paid for

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Ground Workers to join a major ducting and cabling project on the Shetland Islands. This role involves outdoor, hands‑on work including digging, trenching, duct installation, and supporting cabling works along carriageways.

You will be part of a 5‑person team working on rotation. All travel to/from the islands plus accommodation is covered.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out groundworks including trench digging, reinstatement, duct laying, and cable pulling

* Operate plant and machinery (depending on tickets held)

* Assist with setting out work areas and maintaining site safety

* Support cabling crews with installation into ducts

* Work safely along roads/carriageways

* Follow site instructions, RAMS, and health & safety requirements

* Work effectively as part of a small team in remote site conditions

Required Qualifications/Tickets

* CSCS card (essential)

* CPCS or NPORS (for plant operation – essential)

Desirable (not essential, but beneficial):

* Street Works (NRSWA)

* Banksman / Vehicle Marshall (PVM)

* Slinger/Signaller

* SSSTS
