Hardware Engineer
Key Responsibilities
• Design, prototype, and simulate hardware to ensure high first-pass success rates on A-model designs.
• Develop and manage complex electronic hardware designs, including schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (typically 2–8 layers, mixed-signal).
• Work with a range of technologies including MCU/MPU, RF systems, DC-DC and AC-DC power, analog sensors, digital logic, FPGAs, and memory devices.
• Validate, test, and debug hardware using lab equipment; travel to external test facilities when required.
• Apply Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Manufacture (DFM), and Design for Production (DFP) principles throughout the product lifecycle.
• Review electronics designs against industry best practices and provide clear, high-quality documentation.
• Offer technical guidance to customers, supporting their problem-solving and development needs.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates, answer technical queries, and maintain excellent service throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or higher) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a hardware design role.
• Prior experience in a customer-facing or consultancy-based engineering role.
Technical Skills
• Proficient with Altium Designer (preferred); training available for the right candidate.
• Experience with other eCAD tools (Eagle, KiCAD, Fusion, PADS) is beneficial.
• Strong hands-on experience in hardware design, test, and debugging using lab equipment.
• Familiarity with IoT-style embedded systems and mixed-signal architectures.
• Comprehensive understanding of Design for Compliance (DfC), EMC, Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Manufacture (DFM), and Design for Production (DFP). Attributes
