Salary £45,000 per annum

Talented People are proud to be partnering with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation delivering complex projects, including work on or near water, where safety, compliance, and continuous improvement are central to success. This role will provide H&S support to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and to facilitate the improved performance of both the operational and support functions by applying Health and Safety Management principles.

Key Responsibilities

* Work within the company’s Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with all procedures, policies, and instructions

* Support the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System

* Drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance across the business

* Monitor and interpret changes in legislation, ensuring compliance at all times

* Conduct site inspections and audits

* Record and track non-conformances, supporting timely resolution

* Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis

* Support implementation of new technologies, techniques, and procedures to enhance safety performance

* Monitor and report on improvement actions and their completion

Skills & Knowledge

* Strong, up-to-date knowledge of QHSE legislation and best practice

* Solid understanding of core health, safety, and quality principles

* Experience producing clear, accurate reports

* Knowledge of construction environments, particularly work on or near water (inland and tidal)

Experience

* Experience with management systems including:

* ISO9001 (Quality)

* ISO14001 (Environmental)

* ISO45001 (Health & Safety)

* Proven experience conducting site inspections and audits

* Experience working within construction or civil engineering environments

Qualifications

* NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) – essential

* NEBOSH Environmental Management – desirable

* SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) – desirable

* Working towards Chartered status – desirable

* Full UK driving licence

* CSCS card
