Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire
Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Recruited via Tradewind Recruitment

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a growing SEN school that is opening a brand-new site in Irthlingborough in April 2026. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering the opportunity to join a developing provision with the potential to secure a permanent contract.

The new site will support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and associated communication and learning difficulties. The school is committed to providing a structured, nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to achieve both academically and personally.

As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to plan and deliver targeted interventions, lead small group sessions, and occasionally cover lessons where required. You will also contribute to EHCP targets, monitor pupil progress and help implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school's policies.

This role is ideal for a confident and resilient practitioner who thrives in a supportive but dynamic environment. Strong relationship-building skills, consistency and a calm approach are essential. Experience working within an SEN or alternative provision setting is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have:

HLTA status or relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)

Experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD

Strong behaviour management skills

A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice

The ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs

In return, you will join a forward-thinking school at an exciting stage of growth, with supportive leadership and opportunities for professional development as the provision expands.
