We are establishing a new ADHD & Autism Diagnostic Service and are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Speech & Language Therapist to play a central role in delivering high-quality autism assessments and supporting the development of the service from inception.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical expertise with meaningful service development within a growing multidisciplinary team.

The Role

You will:

*

Deliver specialist speech, language and social communication assessments within the ASD diagnostic pathway

*

Administer, score and interpret ADOS-2 and ADI-R (essential requirements)

*

Contribute to detailed developmental history taking and diagnostic formulation

*

Undertake complex differential diagnosis where autism overlaps with ADHD, DLD and mental health presentations

*

Produce high-quality, comprehensive diagnostic reports suitable for clinical and statutory processes

*

Provide strengths-based, neuroaffirmative feedback to families

*

Support the development and implementation of assessment pathways, triage systems and governance frameworks

About You

You will have:

*

HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist

*

Significant post-qualification experience in neurodevelopmental assessment

*

ADOS-2 trained – essential

*

ADI-R trained with demonstrable experience administering and interpreting assessments independently – essential

*

Experience contributing to multidisciplinary autism diagnostic decision-making

*

Excellent formulation, analytical and report-writing skills

*

A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach suited to a developing service
