About the Role
Supply Desk are working closely with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Eastbourne to recruit a dedicated History & RE Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting after the October half term and continuing until Easter 2027.
This role will involve teaching both History and Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners who are passionate about inspiring students and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.
You will join a collaborative Humanities department where staff work together to share resources, ideas, and best practices to ensure excellent outcomes for students.

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have a degree in History, Religious Education, or a related subject.
Have recent experience teaching History and/or RE in UK secondary schools.
Be confident teaching KS3 and KS4.
Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Have a passion for student progress and achievement.
Be a collaborative and adaptable team player.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging History and RE lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Inspire curiosity and critical thinking through the study of historical events and religious beliefs.
Track student progress and provide effective feedback.
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.
Contribute positively to the wider school community where appropriate.
