A local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Housing Options Relief Officer to join their team on a contract basis for an initial 3 months, with strong potential to extend.

This role is ideal for an officer confident managing a relief and main duty caseload, with a strong focus on progressing cases efficiently through to duty discharge. You'll be part of a duty rota and expected to carry out face‑to‑face assessments, offering a varied and hands‑on role within the service.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a Relief and Main Duty caseload, progressing cases through to discharge of duty
Carrying out face‑to‑face homelessness assessments and participating in a duty rota
Completing Relief duty work, including suitability assessments and temporary accommodation offers
Issuing statutory decisions, including Section 184 notifications
Making and managing TA offers and assessing suitability

What you'll need:

Recent experience handling Relief and Main Duty casework within a local authority
Ideally previous experience using Locata
