Location - Bradford / BD1
Salary – Up to 35k DOE
My client is looking for a motivated, proactive and customer‑focused Import Air Freight Operator to join their growing team. The primary focus of the role is managing international air freight import shipments – supporting customers from quotation through to cargo release, while delivering a high standard of service at every stage.
The role involves:
* Managing air freight import shipments from initial quotation to final delivery
* Liaising with overseas agents, airlines, carriers and customers worldwide
* Preparing and issuing quotations, ensuring BIFA Terms & Conditions are included
* Making courtesy follow‑up calls to customers regarding quotations and bookings
* Coordinating bookings with global partners and carriers
* Tracking shipments and proactively updating customers on progress
* Preparing documentation including Notices of Arrival and invoices
* Supporting customs clearance processes and ensuring all documentation is compliant
* Ensuring cargo is released only against correct documentation and cleared funds
* Querying and approving invoices in line with agreed rates
* Resolving issues efficiently while protecting customer and supplier relationships
The role requires:
* Experience within air freight imports or international logistics
* Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills
* A proactive approach and the ability to work using initiative and common sense
* Attention to detail and strong administrative capability
* Confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams
* Ability to manage workloads effectively in a fast‑paced environment
