Apply NowAre you an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step into management? We’re recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-site Facilities Management contract across North London.
Initially combining hands-on engineering with team supervision, this role offers a clear pathway to progress into a full-time Mechanical Supervisor position within approximately six months.
The Role
As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Carry out PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance across multiple sites.
Provide technical support and guidance to a team of engineers.
Diagnose faults and resolve mechanical and building services issues.
Support contractors, quotations and day-to-day maintenance delivery.
Ensure RAMS, permits, Health & Safety and compliance requirements are met.
Build strong relationships with clients and site teams. About You
To be successful as the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have:
A Mechanical or Plumbing NVQ / City & Guilds qualification.
Strong experience within Hard FM, building services or commercial maintenance.
Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Team Leader or Working Supervisor.
Strong PPM, reactive maintenance and fault-finding experience.
The confidence to lead engineers and deal directly with clients.
F-Gas, AC, IOSH or AP experience would be advantageous. What’s in it for You?

Company van and fuel card
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
25 days’ holiday + bank holidays + birthday
Additional 5–6 days’ holiday linked to the contract
£100 standby payment when on call
Enhanced call-out payments and overtime

Progression to Mechanical Supervisor within approximately six months Location: North London, covering approximately 10–15 sites.
