Prospero are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND team at a secondary school in Stockport to help ensure all students, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), can thrive and succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people.

You will support students both within the classroom and in the SEND resource base. You will support individual pupils as well as working with small groups. You will work closely with teachers to promote independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

CONTRACT POSITION / DETAILS:

Location: Stockport.

Position: Learning Support Assistant.

Type of work: Long-term non-teaching cover.

Start Date: April 2026

End date: Ongoing.

Contract type: Full-time, temporary (with the possibility of becoming permanent).

Minimum pay rate: £97 / day

Hours: 8.15am-3pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

GCSEs including A*-C in maths and English, or equivalent.

Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or have special educational needs.

Up to date Safeguarding Training issued in the last year or willingness to complete Prospero's online Safeguarding Training.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
