* Oversee and manage a large civil debt portfolio, ensuring cases progress efficiently and strategically.
* Lead and develop the legal department, establishing best practices, maintaining high professional standards, and supporting wider business objectives.
* Prepare, review, and manage legal documentation, correspondence, and case files with accuracy and professionalism.
* Liaise with external stakeholders including solicitors, courts, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely case progression.
* Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen compliance, accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
* Contribute to the development of the company’s legal strategy, supporting strong commercial and legal outcomes.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will:
* Have proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, or in a similar role within a litigation or debt recovery environment.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to take full ownership of their workload.
* Communicate confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
* Show a proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues and deliver practical solutions.
* Be ready to take on increased responsibility, including leadership and strategic involvement
