Load Shovel Operator – Immediate Start | £500 Starting Bonus
Location: Preston, PR2 5NQ
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 47.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Time: 6:00am
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
£500 Starting Bonus
Receive a £500 starting bonus, paid in two instalments:
* £250 after successfully completing 6 weeks of work
* £250 after successfully completing 12 weeks of work
We are urgently seeking an experienced Load Shovel Operator to join a well-established waste management operation in Preston.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator looking for ongoing work, consistent Monday to Friday hours, and an immediate start with a reputable employer.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a loading shovel for the processing and loading of recyclable materials.
* Load and move waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
* Carry out daily machinery and equipment checks and report any defects.
* Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely.
* Promptly clear any spillages and maintain a clean working environment.
* Operate machinery responsibly while following all Health & Safety procedures.
* Support weighbridge administration duties when required.
* Work effectively as part of the wider waste management team.
Essential Requirements
* Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
* Proven experience operating a loading shovel.
* Good level of spoken and written English.
* Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
* Reliable and responsible approach to work.
* Immediate availability preferred.
What We Offer
