Our client, a small to medium sized manufacturing business, have an immediate requirement to recruit a well versed Maintenance Electrician to join their team.

Overview

The role involves providing hands-on support in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment, must have strong focus on electrical systems while supporting mechanical tasks as required.

The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring maximum uptime of critical electroplating lines, ancillary equipment, and supporting utilities, while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment including plating lines, rectifiers, pumps, motors, compressed air and control panels.

* Diagnose and repair electrical faults, control wiring, drives, sensors, and instrumentation.

* Support mechanical repairs such as pumps, pipework, and hydraulics as required.

* Ensure equipment is maintained to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability, minimizing downtime.

* Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

* Contribute to continuous improvement projects and modifications to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency.Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in line with company procedures.

* Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements, particularly regarding chemical handling and plating operations.

* Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Time-served Electrical Engineer with 18th edition

* Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing/industrial environment

* Strong knowledge of electrical fault finding and repair, including motors, drives, control circuits, and PLCs.

* Good understanding of mechanical systems

* Ability to read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings.

* Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

* Awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance within a manufacturing

Desirable Skills

* Able to showcase experience of working in an Industrial environment

* PLC programming/modification experience.

* Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives.

* Strong team player with good communication skills.

* Self-motivated and able to work independently.

* Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

* Proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be expected to work 07:45 - 16:15 Monday to Thursday and 7am - 1pm on a Friday. In return you can expect a basic package of £45k - £50k dependant on previous experience.
