They are looking for a mechanically biased maintenance engineer, not a superstar (yet!) they will provide an unbeatable training including electrical up-skilling. Experience required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:
Qualified to level 3 (NVQ/C&G) or Apprenticeship served in a mechanical discipline
Is advantageous, this can be through the military (ex-forces)
least 4 years experience maintaining/repairing special purpose machinery - any heavy industry is advantageous but not a deal breaker
mechanically competent - hydraulics/pneumatics, bearings, straps, belts, chains etc.
