We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a leading Facilities Management provider on a site-based position in Hertfordshire.
๐ข This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer to take responsibility for the planned preventative and reactive maintenance of a wide range of mechanical building services, ensuring critical plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
๐ง What You'll Be Doing:
โ๏ธ Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services and associated plant.
๐ก๏ธ Maintaining and servicing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems to agreed service levels.
๐ง Maintaining evaporative cooling systems and domestic water systems in line with relevant standards and requirements.
๐ฉ Carrying out maintenance and fault-finding on pumps, motors, valves and associated mechanical equipment.
๐ Diagnosing plant faults and defects and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
๐ ๏ธ Supporting maintenance activities across other site-based mechanical plant and equipment as required.
๐ Completing accurate maintenance records, task sheets and associated documentation.
๐ Preparing and following Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
๐ฆบ Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and site requirements.
๐ค Building strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and site personnel.
๐ Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.
๐ท What We're Looking For:
๐ง Formally trained or qualified in Mechanical Services Maintenance.
โ๏ธ Proven experience maintaining pumps, motors and valves.
๐ก๏ธ Experience working with cooling towers or evaporative cooling systems.
๐ ๏ธ Strong practical experience within mechanical maintenance, building services or Facilities Management.
๐ฆบ Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements relating to maintenance activities.
๐ Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
๐ฌ Good verbal communication skills and strong written English.
๐ค A customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
๐ช Physically capable of carrying tools and components weighing up to 20kg.
๐๏ธ Comfortable working at heights, on roofs and using vertical access equipment.
โญ Desirable Experience:
๐ป Basic knowledge or experience of Building Management Systems (BMS).
๐ Formal Health & Safety training.
๐ง Relevant certification for the maintenance and operation of evaporative cooling systems.
๐ข Previous experience working on a client-resident or site-based environment.
๐ A commitment to ongoing technical training and professional development.
