Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £300m per annum. Typically they specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.
Role: Mechanical Project Manager - Central London - £400-£450 per day
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £5-10M package within their own discipline, reporting into a lead project manager. The project will be either a commercial new build or fit out. Key to this role is managing the project at site level; ensuring it is completed on time, to a high quality and within budget.
Role/Responsibilities:
* Tender review/validation
* Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
* Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
* Technical submittals
* RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
* Value Engineering where applicable
* Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
* Health & Safety management (RAMs)
* Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
* Management of variations
* Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
* Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
* Overseeing commissioning stages
* Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
The ideal candidate:
* Experience working in the commercial sector
* Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M within your own discipline
* A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
