Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 + Overtime + Bonus + Company Van
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
A well-established engineering services provider to heavy industry is seeking an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer to support customers across the Crawley and surrounding areas.
This field-based role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment including pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and associated plant equipment within heavy industrial environments such as Aggregates.
The Role:
Mechanical fault finding, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment
Installation and commissioning of pumps, turbines, and auxiliary systems
Conducting inspections and producing detailed service reports
Precision alignment and measurement using micrometers and laser alignment tools
Supporting shutdowns, planned maintenance, and breakdown response
Attending customer callouts (with occasional overnight stays)
Working independently in the field and as part of a wider engineering team
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified in Mechanical Engineering (ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Strong background in heavy industry (Aggregates, Power Generation, Cement, Recycling or similar)
Proven experience with rotating equipment, pumps, or turbines
OEM experience desirable
Comfortable working on-site in industrial environments
Full UK driving licence
Strong customer-facing and communication skills
Package & Benefits:
£40,000 - £47,000 depending on experience
