Temporary Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (2 Positions)

Location: Folkestone, Kent
Contract: Temporary (9 Months)
Start Date: August/September 2026
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Working Week: 42 hours (30-minute lunch break)
Pay Rate: Excellent

We are currently recruiting for two experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a well-established manufacturing site in Folkestone on an initial 9-month temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production and plant equipment.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently. Working as part of a small engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, equipment testing and continuous improvement activities to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned, preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance on production and plant equipment.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.

* Complete routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment operates within specification.

* Troubleshoot PLC and robotic systems where required.

* Prioritise maintenance work in line with production requirements.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation developments and SMED projects.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety, GMP, quality and environmental standards.

* Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards across the site.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Extensive experience working within an automated FMCG or manufacturing environment.

* Strong experience maintaining processing and packaging machinery.

* Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

* Electrical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

* Experience fault finding on PLCs and robotic equipment.

* Proven experience delivering reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.

* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and SMED.

* Understanding of COSHH regulations.

* Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt (desirable).

* 17th Edition Electrical Qualification (desirable).
