Nursery Manager

Location: Cullompton, Devon (EX15)
Salary: Up to £53,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Nursery Manager—or an accomplished Deputy Manager ready to take the next step?

We are recruiting for an exceptional Nursery Manager to lead a beautiful early years setting near Cullompton. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational and commercially capable leader who can maintain outstanding standards of care while developing a happy, motivated and successful team.

You will take overall responsibility for the nursery’s day-to-day operation, ensuring children receive a safe, nurturing and stimulating early years experience.

Key responsibilities

* Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team

* Maintain consistently high standards of childcare and education

* Ensure the setting remains fully compliant with the EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements

* Support staff through effective supervision, coaching and performance management

* Build positive relationships with children, parents and the wider community

* Manage staffing levels, rotas, occupancy and nursery budgets

* Drive enquiries, registrations and occupancy

* Oversee safer recruitment, induction and ongoing staff development

* Create an inclusive environment in which children and colleagues can thrive

* Work closely with senior leadership to support the nursery’s continued growth

About you

To be considered, you should have:

* A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above

* Recent management experience within a nursery or early years setting

* Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements

* Experience leading, developing and retaining an early years team

* A confident understanding of nursery operations, occupancy and financial performance

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

* A genuine commitment to providing outstanding outcomes for children

* The ability to balance high-quality childcare with effective commercial leadership
