Occupational Therapist
Location: Brent
Rate: £35 - £37.50 (Umbrella)
Service: Children, Young People and Community Development
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
* We are currently seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the Children, Young People and Community Development team in Brent.
* This role is ideal for a therapist with experience working within Social Care or Local Authority settings, supporting children and young people to achieve greater independence and participation in their daily environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake specialist functional assessments within children’s homes, schools and community settings.
* Recommend and coordinate the provision of equipment, seating, manual handling plans and minor adaptations.
* Work closely with families, carers and multi-disciplinary professionals to develop personalised plans that promote independence, inclusion, play and participation.
* Contribute to the design and planning of major home adaptations, working collaboratively with Housing teams, surveyors, architects and partner agencies.
* Produce high-quality written reports to support Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs), rehousing applications and statutory assessments.
Requirements
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration.
* Experience working within Paediatric Occupational Therapy, ideally within a Social Care or Local Authority environment.
* Experience completing functional assessments and recommending adaptations/equipment.
* Strong report writing and assessment skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with families and multi-disciplinary teams.
