Paint Development Engineer
The Paint Development Engineer will:
* Lead the development, testing, and approval of new colours, coatings, and finishes.
* Apply TS16949 methodologies such as PFD, PFMEA, QCPC, FPDR, and TPDR.
* Set, implement, and enforce aesthetic paint standards across internal and external operations.
* Lead process and facility re‑engineering activities to meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets.
* Support with the creation and deployment of aesthetic standards across the supply chain.
* Apply expert knowledge of liquid paint, powder coating, pre‑treatment, electro‑deposition, and paint application on ABS, aluminium, steel, and carbon fibre.
The Paint Development Engineer will have:
* Proven experience in paint processes, ideally from a paint plant, automotive environment, or paint supplier development role.
* A technical or engineering qualification, ideally in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Strong manufacturing background with experience working closely with suppliers.
* Solid commercial awareness, particularly regarding the cost impact of processes, standards, and bespoke finishes.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
