We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our installation team. In this role, you will handle traditional plumbing, pipework, and heating upgrades, working directly alongside a specialist Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installer. While you do not need to be a certified heat pump expert, you will play a crucial role in preparing properties, upgrading distribution systems (radiators and underfloor heating), and connecting the plumbing infrastructure that makes renewable energy systems function perfectly.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration & Heat Pump Support:

*

System Preparation: Work alongside a specialist installer to prepare properties for ASHP integration, including running low-loss header pipework and installing buffer tanks or unvented cylinders.

*

Heating Upgrades: Remove old boilers and upgrade existing radiators, valves, and pipework to larger sizes suitable for low-temperature renewable heating systems.

*

Underfloor Heating: Assist with or lead the installation of underfloor heating (UFH) manifolds and pipe loops where required.

*

System Flushes: Power-flush and chemically treat existing heating circuits to ensure they are pristine before the new heat pump is commissioned.

General Plumbing Duties:

*

Install, repair, and maintain standard domestic plumbing systems (waste pipes, hot/cold water feeds, sanitaryware).

*

Ensure all plumbing fabrications and pipe runs are neat, well-insulated, and compliant with current building regulations.

*

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment on-site.

Required Skills & Experience

*

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in domestic plumbing and heating installations.

*

Skills: Exceptional copper pipe soldering, pressing, and routing skills. Experience with heating system layouts and zone valves is essential.

*

Qualifications:

*

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent portfolio of experience).

*

Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems (G3) certification is highly desirable.

*

Attributes: A strong team player who communicates well and is eager to learn about the mechanical side of renewable energy integration.

*

Driver's License: Valid, clean driving license.

Preferred (But Not Essential) Qualifications

*

Prior exposure to or basic awareness of low-temperature heating system principles.

*

WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) certificate.
