This role is heavily focused on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), making it ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys maintaining machinery reliability, improving equipment performance, and working in a structured maintenance environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs across a wide range of bakery and packaging machinery, ensuring smooth production and minimal downtime.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the PPM Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Time-served, apprentice-trained Engineer (4-year apprenticeship)
Requirements for the PPM Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience working on conveyors, mixers, depositors, and packaging machinery
Knowledge of bearings, shafts, rotating equipment, and gearboxes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals
Experience working within time constraints to maintain production efficiency
Desirable Requirements for the PPM Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments
Basic electrical fault-finding capability
Experience working with robotic or automated machinery
