Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Location: Kidderminster

Salary: £36-£42k (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview

On behalf of our Client, we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sheetmetal Designer / Product Design Engineer. Ideally you have excellent knowledge, and experience of using SolidWorks.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the production of precision sheet metal products from design through to programming.

While hands-on programming experience is desirable, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Design

* Create detailed product drawings using CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks.

* Develop accurate, production-ready drawings in collaboration with surveyors and estimators.

* Support the seamless transition from design to manufacture with precise documentation.

* Manage tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.

Qualifications / Experience Required

* Experience in sheet metal CAD design.

* Highly proficient in CAD software, especially Sheetmetal toolsets in SolidWorks.

* Knowledge of downstream CAD/CAM process, ideally SigmaNest (or similar).

* Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and machine operations.

* Familiarity with quality control tools and measuring instruments.

* Knowledge of machine troubleshooting and process optimisation.

Nice to have:

* Experience in CNC machine tools (Laser Cutters and/or Punching machines)

* Turret Punch programming

* Able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

* Looking to step into a leadership role and influence how programming is delivered across the business.
