Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s growing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in delivering office refurbishment and fit-out projects, with the ability to manage costs effectively from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for office refurbishment projects.
Manage project costs throughout the full project lifecycle.
Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including preparing enquiries, analysing quotations, and negotiating contracts.
Prepare and manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and payments.
Monitor project budgets, identify cost risks, and provide regular commercial reporting.
Prepare interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
Assess and manage variations, change orders, and contractual claims.
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Teams, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
Produce monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining quality and programme requirements.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Essential Requirements
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong background delivering office refurbishment and commercial fit-out projects.
Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartered status.
Experience with JCT contracts.
Knowledge of commercial office fit-out, CAT A and CAT B refurbishment projects.
Experience using commercial management software such as COINS, Causeway, or similar.
Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and value engineering.
