Quantity Surveyor
This role will involve managing the commercial aspects of infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure projects including treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations, and MEICA upgrades.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and effective commercial control across multiple projects within a regulated utilities environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial lifecycle of projects from tender handover to final account
*
Administer and manage contracts (typically NEC3/NEC4)
*
Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment
*
Assess and value variations, compensation events, and change control
*
Produce accurate cost forecasts, cash flow reports, and monthly CVRs
*
Manage subcontract procurement, payments, and final accounts
*
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
*
Provide commercial advice and support to project delivery teams
*
Maintain strong working relationships with clients, framework partners, and supply chain
Key Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors
*
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
*
Experience working on framework-based projects
*
Good understanding of cost management, forecasting, and reporting
*
Strong negotiation and communication skills
*
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems
*
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
*
Experience working with North West water clients such as United Utilities
*
Knowledge of both infrastructure (pipelines, civils) and non-infrastructure (MEICA, treatment works) project
*
Membership or working towards membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
