You will be joining a well-established and highly respected contractor based in Walsall with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects within the water sector. This multi-accredited contractor delivers clean and waste water capital programmes directly for multiple major water providers and is well-known for its collaborative culture, customer-focused approach and commitment to developing its people. Due to continued success and a strong pipeline of AMP8 projects, they are actively seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Walsall office with hybrid and flexible working.

Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of water infrastructure projects. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing project costs from inception through to final account
Preparing and submitting applications for payment
Administering subcontractor accounts, payments and variations
Producing cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Supporting procurement activities and subcontract negotiations
Ensuring compliance with contract requirements and commercial procedures
Working closely with project delivery teams to drive commercial performance
Managing compensation events, change control and contractual correspondence
Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:

Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within water, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
Full UK driving licence.
