Registered Manager – Children's Residential Care Home
Location: Kent , Medway
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Performance-Related Bonus of up to £5,000

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee a 3-bed residential care home for young people aged 12–15 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being on-site 2 to 3 days a week, providing flexibility while ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and leadership. You will also maintain full compliance with Ofsted and CQC regulations.

Your Role:

As the Registered Manager, you will:

Lead and support the staff team, fostering a child-centred, therapeutic environment.

*

Ensure the home consistently meets or exceeds Ofsted and standards, achieving "Good" and "Outstanding" ratings.

*

Develop and implement individual care plans that address each child’s emotional, educational, and social needs.

*

Oversee safeguarding duties, reporting, and risk management to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

*

Take charge of recruitment, staff training, development, and supervision to maintain high standards of care.

*

Ensure regulatory compliance, including coordinating inspections, monitoring visits, and internal audits for Ofsted.

*

Build and nurture positive relationships with local authorities, schools, families, and external professionals.

*

Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring financial accountability.

*

Drive continuous improvement in care quality and service delivery.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

*

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or an equivalent course) is required.

*

Candidates must be working towards or have completed a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

*

A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience managing a children’s home or 3 years as a Deputy Manager.

*

Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and CQC requirements.

*

Demonstrable experience in safeguarding and child protection, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes for young people.

*

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

*

A passion for making a difference in the lives of children in care.

Desirable Attributes:

*

Experience with trauma-informed care and children with complex needs.

*

Knowledge of CSE or ASD.

*

Training in therapeutic care approaches.

*

A Full UK Driving Licence
