We are recruiting an experienced Scrap Metal Burner to work directly for a busy recycling yard in Tipton.
This is a hands-on role involving cutting heavy steel and oversized scrap metal using oxy-propane burning equipment, preparing materials for recycling and supporting the day-to-day operation of the yard.
Duties
* Operating oxy-propane burning equipment to cut scrap metal and heavy steel.
* Cutting large metal items into manageable sizes for processing and recycling.
* Working safely around heavy materials, machinery and vehicles.
* Following health and safety and fire prevention procedures.
* Checking equipment and maintaining a safe working area.
* Assisting with general scrap yard duties when required.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a scrap metal burner or gas cutter.
* Confident using oxy-propane cutting equipment.
* Experience cutting heavy steel and oversized scrap.
* Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.
* Comfortable working outdoors in an industrial environment.
No CSCS card is required.
Pay and Benefits
* Work based in Tipton, West Midlands.
* Overtime
