SEMH Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Setting: Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

We are a specialist education recruitment agency currently working in partnership with a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight, Manchester, who are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and structured environment.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and tailored lessons
Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation skills
Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and familiesThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong behaviour management skills
A proactive and flexible attitude
