SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Specialist) - Supply Basis

are currently recruiting for passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to work across a trusted network of schools in the Sheffield area on a flexible supply basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff who are looking for flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Specialist), you will:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism
Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
Encourage independence and confidence within the classroom setting

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with autism/SEN
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A flexible and proactive attitude
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
