SEN Teaching Assistant
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND aged 5 – 11 years, including Autism, speech and language needs, and SEMH needs
Lead activities in line with the National Curriculum and individual targets/EHCPs
Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to create a calm, safe, and inclusive environment
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider inclusion team to adapt learning and monitor progress
Provide personal care where required
About You
Experience supporting children with SEND
Experience working in a school setting
Knowledge of supporting speech and language, sensory needs, and social communication difficulties
Comfortable providing personal care
Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping young children overcome barriers to learning
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
Proactive, positive, and adaptable with a nurturing mindset
